Although not strictly a spin off, this show follows 'Trapper' John McIntyre 28 years on from his leaving the 4077th M*A*S*H. He is now working as chief of surgery at the San Francisco Memorial Hospital.

You may not know this, but there was a court case -- Preminger v. 20th Century Fox, which decided (legally) that Trapper John, MD was a spinoff of the movie M*A*S*H, and a "sister" series to the TV M*A*S*H (as opposed to a spinoff of the TV show)... this allowed for Ingo Preminger, producer of the movie M*A*S*H, to win a share of the profits from Trapper John, M.D. Conversely, this would mean that the TV-M*A*S*H's profit participants did not get any share of the Trapper John profits.
